Fatal exception when minimized and locking Windows user

When minimized from fullscreen by alt-tabbing, if I lock my Windows user account, upon logging back in the game will sometimes crash. The error given refers to being "unable to create a HAL device". I can't get it to replicate right now for some reason, but it has occurred multiple times, usually after a long session. I will update this thread with the full error description when it happens again.
